Google has run several generations of camera rig, and each produces a recognisable look.
The older rigs produce softer images, weaker colour, visible seams where panoramas stitch together, and heavier compression. The newer rigs are sharp, high-contrast, and clean at the horizon.

Look down
The bottom of the panorama shows the car itself, blurred into a smear. That smear is informative.

- The blur takes the colour of the vehicle. A dark smear versus a white smear is a real distinction, and some countries were shot with a consistently coloured fleet.
- Roof rack or snorkel
- Some coverage shows an obvious protrusion or accessory sitting in the blur.
- Antenna
- A visible aerial, and where it sits on the roofline, is country-specific in several cases.
- Rig height
- How much road you can see below you varies with mount height. Noticeably low or high coverage narrows things on its own.
Escort and follow vehicles
In a handful of countries, the Google car was accompanied for the whole drive. If the same vehicle keeps appearing behind you across unrelated drives, that is not a coincidence — it is a permanent fixture of that country coverage.
A car that follows you across unrelated locations is not traffic. It is a signature.
